Define "planned obsolescence" and "perceived obsolescence" in your words. Who/What is responsible for these marketing strategies? Who/What benefits from them? Who/What suffers because of them? Are these strategies necessary? Are they right? Provide evidence from your own experience or from what you have read and discussed in class.




ANSWERS:


Planned obsolescence:industrial design policy that deliberately plans or designs a product with limited useful life.




perceived obsolescence:an object that may continue to be functional, but it is no longer perceived to be stylish or appropriate. 




  • marketing managers are responsible for these marketing strategies because they are able to make their own key strategic decisions. 
  • customers benefit from this because it give them what they want.
  • natural resource suffer because of them
  • yes, most of these strategies are necessary because we need most of the resources to survive
  • no they are not but its the only way to keep business running and the world running.
